The Salvation Army Australia's Family Violence Stream provides a wide range of services around the country to support women and women with children impacted by family and domestic violence. We offer refuge, children's and parenting services, counselling, support, men's programs, accommodation and advice to women and children who are experiencing, or who have experienced, family violence.

THE ROLE

We are currently seeking a values-driven and proactive Senior Specialist Family Violence Practitioner to provide outreach case management support to high risk women and women with children who are experiencing family violence.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Provide co-case management support, mentoring and support to staff managing high risk and complex cases
  • Provide operational support and leadership for the delivery of intake, assessment and crisis response to women and children experiencing family violence
  • Provide client-focused supervision to a small team of Family Violence case managers in order to ensure the delivery of high-quality service provision
  • Developing and maintaining productive and collaborative relationships with community and agency partners

Reporting to the Program Manager - Southern Family Violence Services, this position is located in Windsor.

HOURS AND SALARY

This is a full time position, 38 hours per week fixed term for 12 months.

Salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, level 6.

SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL HAVE

  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology or equivalent.
  • A minimum of three years family violence service experience is required.
  • Knowledge, understanding and experience in staff supervision is desirable.
  • A sound knowledge of the issues in the lives of women and children who are experiencing or recovering from family violence.
  • Experience, knowledge and competency in case management practices.
  • Well-developed written, verbal and IT communication skills
  • Excellent organisation and administrative skills with the capacity to balance workload determine priorities and meet deadlines
  • A current VIC Drivers Licence
  • Valid VIC Employee Working with Children Check
  • Ability to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
