We are seeking a motivated full-time permanent business development specialist to a position based at Glen Waverley.

As Senior Relationship Manager Philanthropy, you will leverage your exceptional networking skills to cultivate and nurture relationships with high net-worth individuals to drive philanthropic portfolio growth as well as manage existing major donor income.

Reporting to the Manager Philanthropy, you will be an integral member of highly effective and established Transformational Gifts team contributing to optimising the organisations funding base to support the mission of The Salvation Army.

The key focus of the role will be to:

  • Manage and empower the portfolio of existing and prospective Philanthropic donors ensuring mutually beneficial relationships are forged
  • Develop and implement an engagement strategy and Account Plan for each philanthropic donor using moves management methodologies
  • Manage relationships with a focus on quality communications and strategic engagement
  • Prospect for new supporters and manage existing donors (Approx. 80/20 split)
  • Represent TSA at networking functions, events and activities
  • Enhance donor experience through face to face engagement
  • Meet and exceed annual financial goals

Our ideal candidate will have demonstrated understanding of the fundraising process in the NFP sector and a background in either sales, client management, business development, donor development or another related field.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Well-honed Relationship or Account Management skills
  • Proven ability to generate, retain and grow revenue through established long-term relationships
  • Sales experience, with a history of over-achieving on budgets, KPI's and targets
  • Exceptional oral, written and interpersonal and emotional intelligence skills
  • Exceptional negotiating, influencing and networking skills
  • A background in major gift fundraising
  • An understanding of the moves management process, especially within the not-for-profit sector
  • A professional attitude and impeccable presentation
  • Public Speaking experience
  • Demonstrated experience in making a major ask
  • Knowledge of fundraising best practice, principles, legislation and ethical standards
  • Exceptional analysis and reporting capabilities
  • Outstanding numerical and data analysis skills
