HOMELESSNESS - The Salvation Army Australia's Homelessness Stream advocates and supports people to make lifestyle choices that will enhance their quality of life and enable them to live independently while feeling connected to a supportive community. Our programs and services equip people with the tools they need to live a positive and healthy lifestyle. Our programs offer homelessness support to communities across the Wimmera and South West regions of Victoria.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently seeking a values-driven and proactive Reception and Administration Support Officer; to welcome clients and to provide Administration, IT systems support and finance data processing support to the Hamilton service and, as required, to the Homelessness stream programs operating in the Wimmera South West region. Key responsibilities are highlighted below;

  • Reception duties; welcoming clients, answering phone calls and liaising between relevant departments
  • Finance administration; maintaining records, coding and forwarding paperwork to accounts payable, completing bank reconciliation, liaising with the central finance team
  • Property maintenance; monitor and maintain all local property via inventories, IT, equipment, supplies and keys.
  • Operations; fleet management records keeping, filing systems, maintaining welfare vouchers, maintaining turn away records, maintaining stationery and kitchen supplies and mail management.
  • Work health and safety; monitoring and checking first aid kits, chemical registers and monitoring staff movements.

This position is located at 246 Gray Street, Hamilton.

HOURS AND SALARY

This is a part time position, 22 hours per week, ongoing, with the hours worked Monday to Thursday each week.
Salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, clerical, level 2

ABOUT YOU

  • Demonstrated experience in reception and admin support
  • Sound knowledge of reception function, with demonstrated ability to develop rapport with staff, service users and visitors.
  • Demonstrated time management, organisational and Administrative skills.
  • Ability to perform basic book keeping tasks.
  • Good knowledge of "Privacy Principles" and demonstrated ability in applying them
  • Proficient in the use of IT systems and software, including MS Office suite
  • Highly developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Acknowledgement and responsiveness to diversity of experiences, perspectives, values and beliefs
  • Be able to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
