The Salvation Army Australia's Homelessness Stream provides high quality, person-centred services to people at risk, and or experiencing homelessness. We support adults and families, including accompanying children with accommodation, case management, outreach support, financial assistance, connection and referral to other specialist services.

Alice Springs Mens Hostel service exists to provide accommodation for homeless men, without discrimination. In the provision of this service we aim to build supportive relationships with our clients in a positive environment in accordance with Christian faith and practice. We aim to empower clients to make lifestyle choices that will enhance their quality of life and assist them to live independently.

THE ROLE

We are currently seeking a values-driven and proactive Program Manager to supervise and participate in the professional operations and delivery of accommodation and support work services within Alice Springs Men's Hostel. This includes supervision of staff and programs assisting clients who are living at the hostel or who are participating in our transitional programs, community programs and/or engagement with The Salvation Army Mission.

The Service Manager ensures a quality client-centred approach to service delivery to assist clients moving toward independence and building strong connections within the community to enhance lives.

Reporting to the Services Manager and Northern Territory Coordinator this position is located in Alice Springs.

HOURS AND SALARY

This is a full-time position, 38 hours per week fixed term for 12 months.

Salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, level 7

SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL HAVE

  • Degree level qualifications in a relevant field and
  • Extensive relevant experience in a leadership role or equivalent in crisis accommodation.
  • Knowledge and experience within the homelessness sector
  • Ability and willingness to be on call and work outside normal business hours, as required
  • A current NT Drivers Licence
  • Valid NT Working with Children Check
  • Ability to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
