The Geelong Withdrawal Unit provides a residential medicated withdrawal service for those who are seeking to recover from alcohol and other drugs issues. Clients reside in the Unit during their episode of care and are provided with all meals and facilities. Clients can remain in the programme for a further 21 days (Stage 2) post their medicated withdrawal (Stage 1) to stabilise and plan for their recovery post discharge.

THE ROLE

We are currently seeking a values-driven person with proven experience in AOD or Mental Health Sector to lead and supervise an effective team of AOD Support Workers.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Ensure service models and standards of practice are clearly articulated to Support Workers
  • Support Workers are supported to deliver an approved, evidence-based program in accordance with the client
  • Identify service gaps and make recommendations for service delivery improvements to the Service Manage
  • Monitor service performance targets and client outcomes in conjunction with Service Manager
  • Manage people performance
  • Facilitate productive relationships within the team that contribute to quality team performance and team wellbeing
  • Negotiate, produce and monitor rosters in conjunction with AOD Support worker staff and Service Manager

This position is located at the AOD and MH Services Barwon, Corio.

HOURS AND SALARY

This is a full-time position, 38 hours per week ongoing.

Salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, Social stream, level 5.

IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

  • Tertiary qualification in social work, psychology or other relevant discipline
  • Cert IV in AOD or four core units
  • 2 years' experience in the AOD or MH Sector
  • Experience in a supervisory role
  • A current Victorian Drivers Licence is essential
  • Be able to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
