The Salvation Army Australia's Homelessness Stream provides high quality, person centred services to people at risk, and or experiencing homelessness. We support adults and families, including accompanying children with accommodation, case management, outreach support, financial assistance, connection and referral to other specialist services.

THE ROLE

We are currently seeking a values-driven National Homelessness Specialist (Senior Practice Lead) to be responsible for leading developing and implementing the development of models of care, outcomes measurement and the establishment of national practice procedures and accompanying resources. Key responsibilities include:

  • Information dissemination and relating to sector standards, accreditation and continuous quality improvement and ensuring national platforms up to date with current information to support practice and accreditation standards
  • Contributing to national plans, frameworks and practice to ensure innovative and client centred service delivery to meet current and future needs

Reporting to the National Senior Homelessness Specialist this position is located at TSA Territorial Headquarters in Blackburn VIC.

HOURS AND SALARY

This is a full-time position, 38 hours per week fixed term for 12 months.

Salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, level 7.

SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL HAVE

  • Degree qualification in social work, welfare, community development or related field and relevant experience
  • Post graduate qualification would be highly regarded
  • Senior leadership, management experience in the Homelessness and/or Social Services Sectors
  • Active membership in homelessness, social services bodies, peaks and industry groups
  • Experience in translating high level strategy and policy into practice at a service level
  • Sound understanding of National and State based homelessness policy
  • Experience in undertaking stakeholder consultations, including with people that have experienced homelessness
  • Demonstrated skills in Project Management, Tenders, Submissions
  • Demonstrated understanding of social justice, access and equity, and the ability to identify and respond to community needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience coordinating multiple tasks and projects
  • Experience in reviewing, developing and implementing organisational practice procedures
  • Experience in reviewing, developing and implementing Models of Care along the service continuum
  • A current VIC Drivers Licence
  • Valid Employee Working with Children Check
  • Ability to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
