The purpose of this position is to provide national leadership during a time of transformation, providing oversight of the processing and payment of accounts payable.

Reporting to the General Manager, Shared Services, the Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for providing leadership and oversight of the accounts payable function and review, propose and implement initiatives to improve efficiencies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the Financial Shared Services operations model
  • Actively participate in the Shared Services Leadership Team ensuring key deliverables are achieved in line with strategic outcomes
  • Provide effective leadership to the team through coaching and mentoring, to build and grow operational capability
  • Development and Implement effective systems and processes for managing accounts payable across The Salvation Army including evaluation of potential new systems implementation and efficiency opportunities.
  • Ensure that relevant, accurate and timely reports on performance, compliance, contracts, expenditures, are produced on monthly, quarterly, annual basis
  • Lead the establishment of approaches, templates, training and support for managing the operational requirements of accounts payable services model across The Salvation Army
  • Work collaboratively with managers to determine priorities and develop integrated solutions that deliver key outcomes
  • Drive individual and team performance to achieve key deliverables, manage performance gaps, reward success and actively resolve individual and team performance issues

To be successful in this role, you will ideally be CPA/CA qualified with experience and knowledge of overseeing an accounts payable function. In addition, to taking a proactive approach by engaging and managing the expectations of stakeholder groups of all levels.
