The Maryborough Corps is a community of faith that seeks to share God's love. We are continually seeking new and innovative ways to build relationships within the community.

The Corps manages the St Arnaud Outpost, a Salvation Army community outreach that consists of a Thrift Shop, Community Support Services and Emergency Relief.

THE ROLE

As the leader of the St Arnaud Outpost, you will be responsible for growing The Salvation Army community through implementing and facilitating the Missional Communities Model in and around the St Arnaud area. Other key responsibilities include:

  • Oversite of the St Arnaud Thrift Shop and delivery of Doorways Services
  • Recruitment, engagement and training of volunteers
  • Seek and develop collaborative relationships with relevant community groups and organisations
  • Pastoral care and discipleship activities are undertaken as guided by the Corps Officers
  • Current and emerging leaders are identified, trained, coached and equipped for ministry
  • Reports of activities and outcomes, recording information on the volunteer management system.
  • Assists the Officers to ensure that the Corps is a child safe environment
  • Pastoral care and discipleship activities are undertaken as guided by the Corps Officer(s)
  • Assistance is provided to identify and foster emerging leaders for ministry

We are seeking an experienced and values-driven person who can lead with minimal direct supervision. You will need initiative and be self-motivated to succeed in this role.

The position is managed by the Corps Officers at Maryborough Corps.

HOURS AND SALARY

This is a full-time position, 38 hours per week fixed term commencing early January 2021 to 30th June 2022.

This position is an Award Free role.

IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

  • Diploma of theology or significant demonstrated equivalent experience, knowledge and skills.
  • Active involvement in church ministries
  • Experience in leading and developing teams
  • Willingness to complete compulsory training or other requirements required by state legislation with regards to children, vulnerable persons and privacy
  • Experience developing and activating pastoral capacity in others
  • Ability to apply theological insight to reflections on own life and ministry
  • Ability to lead and develop others in carrying out discipleship
  • Be able to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
