The purpose of this role is to ease the suffering or hardship of people in financial difficulty or crisis by helping people build longer-term capability to budget and manage their money better and make informed choices. In this role you will provide Microfinance services to individuals and families, including the handling of enquiries and providing information about the loans program, promoting the program, processing applications, providing money management information and helping clients' build financial capability and resilience, in accordance with Salvos Microfinance policies, procedures and systems. You will be supported & guided by the Microfinance Coordinator.

Essential Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to work with different cultures and backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated money management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with people suffering difficulties and crisis.
  • 12+months experience in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of Certificate III in Community Services
  • Understanding of the issues such as addictions, mental ill health and disabilities.
  • Experience with community based microfinance.
  • An understanding of the principles of microfinance.
  • Working with vulnerable people check.
