The Salvation Army Australia's Homelessness Stream provides high quality, person centred services to people at risk, and or experiencing homelessness. We support adults and families, including accompanying children with accommodation, case management, outreach support, financial assistance, connection and referral to other specialist services.

THE ROLE

The Salvation Army Social Mission Department and Victoria State Homelessness leadership team are seeking a values-driven person for the position of Homelessness Manager - North West VIC. You will also have opportunity to contribute to national plans frameworks and practice to ensure innovative and client centred service is delivered to meet current and future needs.

Reporting to the State Manager Homelessness (VIC), you will be responsible for leading the delivery of allocated homelessness services within the North West regional areas of Victoria.

This will involve operational and project management, relationship building with external stakeholders, funding of resources and programs and promote and establish TSA services. Other key accountability areas include:

  • Contribute to the review and consolidation of homelessness services within the state
  • Implementation of TSA national research and evaluation frameworks across the region to assist in measuring outcomes of service delivery
  • Project manage new government initiatives
  • Implement governance and accountability management processes
  • Prepare and manage to budget for service delivery
  • Build a culture of cooperation, learning, affirmation and accountability across the state
  • Lead a team of professionals to design, develop, deliver and evaluate fit-for-purpose Mission support
  • Collaborate with The Salvation Army managers of other service delivery streams within the state

This position will provide oversight of programs within Northern Victoria region (Shepparton and surrounds).

HOURS AND SALARY

This is a full-time position, 38 hours per week ongoing .

Salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, Social stream, Level 8.

IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

  • Degree qualification in social work, welfare, community development or related field and at least 10 years relevant experience, including managerial experience
  • Experience in active membership in community or government bodies within the homelessness sector
  • Management experience in social and community services programs including homelessness
  • Understands the links between the business unit, organisation and whole-of-sector service delivery parameters and requirements
  • Builds a shared sense of strategic direction, clarifies priorities and goals and inspires others to achieve them
  • Facilitates opportunities to engage and collaborate with external stakeholders to develop joint solutions
