To complete a large cataloguing and processing project due to the amalgamation of the Melbourne and Sydney libraries of Eva Burrows College.

Are you someone who can work quickly and with high levels of accuracy? Would you love to be involved in tackling a large library cataloguing and processing project?

This short term role at the Eva Burrows Library in Ringwood, Melbourne will be an excellent opportunity to work alongside other experienced library staff. We are looking for someone for a part time position (22.5 hours per week) for 12 months who will settle in quickly, own the role and get the job done. The specific project is the re-cataloguing and processing of some 12,000 titles which are now in the library collection.

Starting as soon as possible, this role is vital to bringing accuracy to our library records and hence the accuracy of the collection and its efficient use by its clientele.

Key Accountability Areas

Attend to day to day library operations including but not limited to:

  • Highly efficient in cataloguing and processing
  • Cataloguing of special collections, journals and historical Wesleyan collection
  • Maintain library policies and procedures that ensure compliance with relevant bodies
  • Ensure that all services provided by the library are of high quality

Required experience and attributes

  • An understanding of the context of a Higher Education College and Library services
  • Proven experience as a Library Technician
  • High level attention to detail
  • Highly competent in cataloguing.
  • Demonstrated computer skills, Library management software (Liberty or similar)

Qualifications & Mandatory Requirements

  • Completion of a professional qualification as a Library Technician
  • National Police Check
  • Current Working with Children check
