This role is to provide support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families particularly regarding children's educational needs. The role will work with families and Community to increase educational outcomes for Aboriginal children through supporting families with Remote Learning and structured homework.

Role Responsibilities

  • Support families to strengthen relationships and increase communication between parents/carers and children
  • Provide families with tailored parenting support specifically focussed on education
  • Liaise with educational institutions
  • Work with other practitioners to develop education and parenting support programs
  • Support parents to be involved in and support their children's education
  • Collect and maintain accurate data and documentation
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor or Master of Education
  • Primary school teaching experience essential
  • Secondary school teaching experience ideal
  • Training and/or experience in student wellbeing
