ABOUT US

The Salvation Army is one of Australia’s largest and most-loved charities, helping thousands of Australians every year find hope in the midst of all kinds of personal hardship. The Salvation Army offers the opportunity to use your professional skills and expertise to make a real difference in the lives of people who need help most.

At the Salvation Army Employment Plus (EPlus), we've worked with over 200,000 businesses across Australia and seen well over half a million Australians successfully placed in employment. We don't ever see a job, as just a job. We see a job as an opportunity for a better, more secure, more stable and empowered life.

About the opportunity

Plain and simple, each day you get to start and finish your day by making a difference!

Based at our Launceston site, your role will be working with participants in the Disability Employment Services program to assist them to overcome barriers to employment and successfully transition into the workforce.

In a day, your role will include conducting appointments, creating goals and referring to both internal and external services for support and training, marketing and referring to employment opportunities, providing post placement support and much more! The best part about assisting a participant is you get to support the participant along their journey and share in the positivity that employment brings.

About you

  • We want you to be passionate about helping your community while representing The Salvation Army
  • Ability to overcome objections and break down barriers that exist for people living with a disability
  • A strong ability to problem-solve and communicate to a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience in achieving and exceeding business targets and KPIs
  • Comfortable operating under a government framework and making decisions in accordance with Department guidelines

Industry experience is not essential, our most successful employees come from customer facing backgrounds such as retail and hospitality and have the life skills to provide mentoring and support. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to step into a new career and be truly rewarded (and get your weekends back)!
