We have an exciting full-time opportunity for a passionate and driven Internal Communications Advisor who is looking to advance their career in a nationally recognised faith-based organisation. The role provides an excellent opportunity to develop skills and knowledge across the full spectrum of internal communications to promote the mission of The Salvation Army.

Based in Blackburn and reporting to the Internal Communications Manager you will be responsible for facilitating consistent and transparent communication that informs and engages internal stakeholders.

The key focus of the role will be to:

  • Develop, implement and evaluate communication plans;
  • Measure the effectiveness of internal communications messaging and communication channels;
  • Provide advice and practical support to departments to ensure whole of organisation strategic view of internal communication;
  • Develop a range of collateral such as tool kits, communication packs, fact sheet sheets and infographics so TSA's workforce are kept informed and engaged;
  • Develop strong collaborative relationships with other communication specialists and teams;
  • Research and write compelling copy for internal social platforms and intranet site;
  • Support the delivery of the national internal communication strategy.

To be successful in this role, you will have qualifications in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field, with prior experience in a communications role gained in a large multinational organisation in the NFP sector, highly regarded.

Key capabilities include:

  • 3+ years' experience in communications, journalism or related fields;
  • Ability to interpret complex business requirements to produce clear & concise communication;
  • Demonstrated experience in drafting content or key messages for diverse audiences;
  • Demonstrated ability in using a range of communication mediums and tactics;
  • Excellent verbal and writing communications skills. Impeccable writing, grammar and spelling;
  • Excellent time management and the ability to prioritise, multi-task and work to deadlines;
  • Success in relationship building and working with different stakeholders;
  • Experience or knowledge of digital channels (ie SharePoint, Mailchimp);
  • Microsoft Office 365 skills (Powerpoint, Excel, Word and Outlook) proficiency;
  • Knowledge / experience of Adobe Creative Suite and Canva an advantage.
