Oasis Youth Support Network are currently seeking a Housing Liaison Worker to join our dynamic, committed team in providing a therapeutic and client centered service with the ultimate aim of transitioning young people out of homelessness.

The Salvation Army - Oasis Youth Support Network provides a place of safety, stability and support. From crisis and transitional accommodation, right through to case management, education and training, living skills and outreach, Oasis works to re-establish choice, self-worth and confidence in a safe environment, empowering young people to move forward in their lives and make positive choices for their futures.

About the role:

Oasis Youth Support Network, assists young people aged 16-24 years of age, who are experiencing homelessness through the provision of a crisis youth refuge, transitional housing and outreach case management support to secure and sustain safe and appropriate longer term housing. We are currently seeking a Housing Liaison Worker to join our dynamic, committed team in providing a therapeutic and client centerd service with the ultimate aim of transitioning young people out of homelessness. Oasis operates from a Trauma Informed Care framework and this position supports the restoration of choice, empowerment and safety for at-risk young people.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our people are diverted from re-entering the homelessness system, provided with immediate support to obtain/maintain long-term accommodation and/or rapidly re-housed. This is a unique position that has the capacity to develop and implement housing pathways that support long term positive outcomes for young people experiencing homelessness.

To be successful in the role you will have to demonstrate your experience through the following selection criteria:

  • An appreciation of and the ability and willingness to promote and support the values and ethos of The Salvation Army,
  • Tertiary qualifications (minimum Bachelor degree) in Community Services, Social Work or related discipline,
  • Current NSW Driver's Licence,
  • Current Senior First Aid Certificate,
  • Minimum 3 years' case management experience,
  • Demonstrated experience managing tenancies and supporting clients to maintain tenancies
  • Demonstrated experience and working knowledge of the community services sector in NSW, with a specific emphasis on homelessness (including issues, trends, resources & services etc.),
  • Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining collaborative relationships with key service providers, primarily social housing providers, Departments of Communities and Justice and private real-estate agents.

Applicants must also have the right to work in Australia, a current, full Working with Children Check and will be subject to a satisfactory National Police Check, it is also essential to have a current NSW class C driver's license for this position.
