The Salvation Army Australia's Homelessness Stream provides high quality, person centred services to people at risk, and or experiencing homelessness. We support adults and families, including accompanying children with accommodation, case management, outreach support, financial assistance, connection and referral to other specialist services.

THE ROLE

The Housing and Early Intervention Case Manager works in a team to support individuals and families to sustain current accommodation and avoid entering homelessness, offers support for other workers and services to identify and secure suitable and sustainable housing and participates and networks with other services and partner organisations to collaborate with n group service events.

Reporting to the Program Manager this position is located at the Inner City Homelessness Service, Surry Hills.

HOURS AND SALARY

This is a permanent full time position, 38 hours per week.

Salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, Crisis Accommodation Employee Level 2.

SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL HAVE

  • An appreciation of and the ability and willingness to promote and support the values and ethos of The Salvation Army. ·
  • Tertiary qualifications, or working towards, (minimum Bachelor degree) in Community Services, Social Work or related discipline.
  • Minimum 1 year case management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience and working knowledge of the community services sector in NSW, with a specific emphasis on homelessness and family/domestic violence (including issues, trends, resources & services etc.).
  • Current NSW C-Class Drivers licence.
  • Current Senior First Aid Certificate.
  • Criminal History Check and a clear Working with Children's check.
  • Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining collaborative relationships with key service providers.
  • Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and religions.
  • Professional development required to maintain skills for the role.
