ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a proactive and values-driven Family Store Coordinator to provide leadership and supervision in accordance with the principles and policies of the Forbes/Parkes Family Stores and to facilitate good management of the retail area of both stores.

You will provide effective display of usable goods for sale and a friendly shopping experience for customers with the purpose of developing an ethos of excellence in customer service and efficiency in operations and supporting the achievement of The Salvation Army mission. Other responsibilities include:

  • Achieve budget within designated store, and benchmarks for sorting/production, stock rotation and staffing
  • Provide training, guidance, direction and feedback to all workers, raising serious staff issues to the your Corps Officer.
  • Effectively manage volunteers, community work and correctional services participants in accordance with policy and procedure.
  • Ensure all workers adhere to the Code of Conduct and Family Store Operating Policy and Procedure Manual.
  • Manage in-store marketing activities and promotions as directed, ensuring visual merchandising and display of stock is in accordance with policy and procedure.
  • Complete required administrative duties within required timeframes.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures, including but not limited to, Site Security, Health and Safety, Point of Sale Operation, House Keeping and Monthly Stock Take.

This position will be required across both stores, one store is located on Rankin Street, Forbes and the other on Church Street, Parkes.

HOURS AND SALARY

This is a permanent part time position, 21 hours per week.

Salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Retail Industry Award 2010, Level 8.

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

  • Experience in customer service
  • Experience in managing a team preferably volunteers
  • Experience working in Retail (highly desirable)
  • Complete Provide First Aid (PFA) training and be willing to be designated First Aid Provider when on site (Appointment to cover cost of First Aid training (if certification not already valid), and/or biannual updates)
  • Experience in building a culture of consultation and collaboration
  • Ability to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia

This position will require physical ability to safely stand, sit, walk regularly and for long periods of time. Some responsibilities require the Manager to push, pull, lift, carry and restrain stock, climb ladders, and operate a cash register and EFTPOS machine. This will all be in line with WHS policies and procedures.

ABOUT YOU

  • Management experience in retail and or customer service environment
  • Current driver's licence
  • Retail qualifications are desirable
  • Evidence of strong relationships with team members at a management level
  • Self motivated and a strong work ethic
  • Sound presentation and communication skills
  • Proven ability to interact and network positively with a variety of people
