Our enrolled nurses provide best practice nursing care, effective supervision of PCAs, ensuring all documentation complies with legislative requirements and meets accreditation standards. Particular challenges include managing non-compliant and resistive client behaviours and maintaining comprehensive, current and accurate documentation.

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Delivery of all aspects of care for up to 31 residents (depending on designated area)
  • Reporting directly to the NIC, ensure any changes in resident status and any staffing issues are reported, to facilitate prompt, effective clinical and personnel related decision making
  • Supervise Personal Care Workers
  • Receiving and when necessary acting on, reports from the previous shift
  • Developing, and maintaining all requisite documentation
  • Ensuring their professional development is maintained to at least the minimum required for continuing registration

ABOUT YOU

To be considered for this role, ideally we are looking for:

  • An understanding, empathy, appreciation and the ability to promote the values and ethos of The Salvation Army
  • A current nursing registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA) for a minimum of 2 years
  • Demonstrated aged care experience, the ability to work as part of a team and promote education and leadership in aged care
  • Experience in managing challenging behaviours, preferably but not essentially, of residents with drug/alcohol dependence and/or mental health problems
  • Understanding of and commitment to continuous quality improvement
  • An understanding of Aged Care Quality Standards
  • An understanding of Aged Care Funding Instrument (ACFI)
  • Demonstrated organisational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated well-developed computer and documentation skills
