About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Customer Service Assistant who will assist the Thrift Shop Manager(s) to lead and develop the stores to maximise profits and strengthen links between thrift shops, Community Support Service, wider community and Corps. This role will have supervisory responsibilities of volunteers.

Responsibilities include

  • Maximise sales and revenue through processing of donations to the store
  • Implement stock rotation and stock management processes to ensure optimal store stock levels are maintained
  • Deliver excellence in customer service by responding to customer needs, training staff in best practice customer service
  • Ensure all programs are managed within approved budgets, meet all funding body and legislative requirements and operate within TSA mission and values
  • Assist with the store financial processes including completion of daily cash reconciliation, preparation of cash floats and banking
  • Report any property or equipment damage and coordinate all repairs in consultation with Thrift Shop Manager and Corps Officer Maintain all site security standards

This is a Casual Part Time position for 12 hours per week between 12pm-4pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. based in Ocean Grove, VIC. Salary and conditions are in accordance with General Retail Industry Award L2.

What you will have

  • Certificate in Retail Operations / Diploma of Business is desirable
  • A current VIC Drivers Licence
  • Retail management experience is highly desirable
  • Merchandising and store presentation skills
  • Experience managing stock
  • Experience working and managing volunteers preferred
  • Basic working knowledge of programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Physical ability to safely sit, stand, walk regularly and for long periods of time
  • Physical ability to push, pull, lift, carry items up to 10 kilos in weight
  • Physical ability to climb ladders
