Compliance Coordinator - Salvation Army International Development Team

We are seeking a Compliance Coordinator for a permanent role based in Redfern, NSW.

About the Role:

You will be an integral member of the dynamic and passionate Salvation Army International Development (SAID) Team and will be responsible for monitoring and coordinating compliance and providing technical advice and support to the broader team under the direction of the Program Manager.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring SAID compliance processes are aligned with The Salvation Army (TSA) Policies and Procedures, and the Risk and Compliance Framework;
  • Monitoring compliance regulations for the purpose of accreditation;
  • Managing the Compliance Schedule;
  • Developing, implementing and highlighting compliance gaps and recommend appropriate solutions;
  • Monitoring, training and implementing policy, compliance and/or procedural changes;
  • Assist Program Manager in composing Partnership Agreements;
  • Various administrative functions such as supporting Project Coordinators, providing project support, reporting, database maintenance, community development research and developing training collateral.

Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years working or volunteering in international development and will have obtained a undergraduate degree in International Development, Social Sciences, Program Management or other relevant field or equivalent experience

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • An understanding of governance models in the NGO/charity sector, desirable
  • An understanding of international Community development, desirable;
  • Knowledge of the ACFID Code of Conduct, DFAT accreditation standards, desirable;
  • Knowledge of compliance including the International Risk Management; Standard ISO31000:2018, policy writing and developing systems and tools
  • Strong technical capability in Microsoft Office Suite, Clarizen, Trello and Collaboration tools such as Teams, SharePoint and One Drive;
  • Good communication, collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills.
