We are seeking a values driven Community Young People (YP) Worker with a passion to create, lead and oversee community based programs run by North East Salvos. You will connect directly with Children & Families in the North East Adelaide region.

This is 12 month part-time position, 15 hours per week.

You will successfully

  • Create environments, activities and programs that will facilitate age appropriate learning for children and families within the community.
  • Oversee 2 Community Playgroups
  • Develop/Create an After School Kid's Club
  • Assist current leadership of the Just Brass Program music program
  • Lead Friday Night Fun program once a month
  • Identify, develop & empower emerging leaders
  • Develop community relationships that seek to deliver TSA mission for children and families.
  • Ensure resources, curriculum and content used is age-appropriate and relevant.
  • Intentionally link community young people into Corps community, programs and groups.
  • Provide and organise relevant training to volunteers, including (but not limited to) Child Safe Training.

The Salvation Army is subject to public health orders. You may be required to provide evidence of vaccine status dependent on requirements.

You will have

  • Previous experience in working with children and families
  • A national police record check is required
  • A current and valid Working with Children's Check
  • Current SA Drivers licence
  • Current First Aid Certificate with valid CPR component (or willingness to achieve this within the first 3 months)
