We offer a range of services including Harm Reduction and Primary Health Services as well as a range of treatment types (including residential treatment centres, community-based support programs, counselling and withdrawal management services). Townsville Recovery Services operates as a 33-bed residential rehabilitation facility for men & women over the age of 18 seeking recovery from addiction to alcohol, other drugs and gambling. Our program is abstinence based and provides skills to assist participants in breaking the cycle of addiction. The development of these skills leads participants into a lifestyle of hope, health and wholeness in body, mind and spirit.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently seeking a values-driven and proactive Case Worker to provide efficient day to day service delivery through education, interventions, group work, assessment, referral and case work within a recovery orientated and person led service environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Demonstrate commitment to an environment that values continuous improvement and innovation in the delivery of high quality services
  • Provide services either face to face, office based or at an agreed safe location, in group settings, by telephone or digitally as well as with outreach.
  • Acquire and maintain a good working knowledge of referral and support options for participants.Respond to new referrals, explain the purpose of the service and undertake assessments to identify risks and jointly determine priority needs.
  • Work collaboratively and professionally with other services

This position is located at the Townsville Recovery Services Centre in Rowes Bay.

HOURS AND SALARY

This is a permanent full time position, 38 hours per week.

Salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, level 4.

SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL HAVE

  • Minimum of Diploma level qualification in a relevant discipline, and knowledge of AOD/Gambling, Community Services and Health Sectors
  • Demonstrated experience and skills in working with those impacted by substance abuse and mental health conditions.
  • Experience and knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural systems and protocols and the ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People
  • Experience in effective case management and facilitation
  • Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and religions.
  • A current QLD Drivers Licence
  • Be able to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
