The Dooralong Transformation Centre is Australia's largest drug, alcohol and gambling rehabilitation centre providing residential support services in an abstinence based, drug-free environment.

The Dooralong transformation Centre operates under The Salvation Army Bridge Program with incorporates:

  • Group discussion and one-on-one sessions
  • Drug and alcohol education
  • Health care assistance
  • Recreational activities
  • Vocational training

The combined programs result in a holistic approach to the treatment of addiction, enabling participants to strive towards physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual well-being.

THE ROLE

We are currently seeking a proactive and values-driven Case Worker to provide effective support to participants, ensuring a safe and structured environment is maintained in accordance with TSA guidelines, within a participant lead recovery based service. Other key responsibilities include:

  • Provide appropriate support to participants in line with established frameworks and TSA policies and procedures.
  • Assist case workers to address client needs, administer the program contribute to case plans and provide supervision to participants.
  • Demonstrate commitment to an environment that values continuous improvement and innovation in the delivery of high quality services.
  • In line with agreed delegation make decisions consistent with TSA Recovery Services and Centre Policy and procedures in relation to participant/staff matters.

Reporting to the Senior Case Worker this position is located at 1467 Dooralong Road, Dooralong.

HOURS AND SALARY

This is a permanent full time position, 38 hours per week.
Salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, Level 4.

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

  • Diploma in Alcohol and or Other Drugs or a similar discipline
  • Knowledge of AOD/Gambling, Community Services and Health Sectors.
  • An understanding of the issues faced by people experiencing AOD and Gambling related issues, mental ill health and other disabilities
  • Experience working with people from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background.
  • Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and religions.
  • Ability to liaise and work within a multi-disciplinary team both internally and externally
  • Strong problem solving, decision making and evaluation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Sound computer literacy
  • Ability to critically reflect on professional practice and attitudes.
  • Comply with The Salvation Army Organisational Code of Conduct which is an alcohol, gambling and drug free workplace
  • At least two years in recovery
  • A current and valid Drivers Licence
  • Be able to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
