We are currently seeking a values-driven and proactive Case Workers to welcome and support clients through the process of alcohol and other drug withdrawal and residential rehabilitation

The Salvation Army is one of Australia's largest providers of alcohol and other drug services. We offer a range of services including Harm Reduction and Primary Health Services as well as a range of treatment types (including residential treatment centres, community-based support programs, counselling and withdrawal management services). Located in Surry Hills, William Booth House offers both withdrawal management support (detox), residential rehabilitation and community-based programs.

Our service provides:

  • A safe, drug-free environment in order to establish a healthier lifestyle
  • Comprehensive assessment, individualised treatment/recovery plans and case management
  • Holistic treatment service that focus on physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual wellbeing, individualised 1-1 sessions, facilitated groups and living skills training


We are currently seeking a values-driven and proactive Case Workers to welcome and support clients through the process of alcohol and other drug withdrawal and residential rehabilitation. Other key responsibilities include:

  • Provide efficient day to day service delivery through education, psycho-social interventions, group work, assessment, referral and case work within a recovery-orientated and person-led service environment.
  • Develop, implement and monitor strengths-based case plans, including exit planning
  • Ensure a safe and substance free environment ensuring risks are identified, assessed and managed
  • Establish effective relationships with clients that encourage self-determination and participation
  • Strong referral pathways are built and maintained with internal and external stakeholders

This is a permanent full time position. Salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, Level 4


  • Knowledge and experience of working within AOD and/or mental health setting
  • Experience of assessment and care planning
  • Good understanding of risk management
  • Experience working with complex needs/co-morbidities
  • Minimum Diploma level qualification in a relevant discipline (AOD, Community Services, Case Management) or including core AOD Units (or willing to undertake/complete during employment)
  • High level of interpersonal skills including the ability to consult and negotiate with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Good planning, organisational, problem solving and evaluation skills.
  • Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and experiences
  • A current NSW Drivers Licence
  • Be able to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
