The Salvation Army Australia's Family Violence Stream provides a wide range of services around the country to support women and women with children impacted by family and domestic violence. We offer refuge, children's and parenting services, counselling, support, men's programs, accommodation and advice to women and children who are experiencing, or who have experienced, family violence.

THE ROLE

We are currently seeking a values-driven and proactive Support Worker to provide case management and advocacy support to women (and their children) who are victims of Family and Domestic Violence and/or homelessness. The successful applicant will assist with the provision of short/medium term crisis accommodation.

HOURS AND SALARY

This is a part time position, 30 hours per fortnight.

Salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, Level 4.

SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL HAVE

  • Empathy and compassion for those you assist
  • Tertiary qualification in Social & Community Services or related field, degree level preferred
  • Relevant experience with Family & Domestic Violence and homelessness
  • Knowledge and understanding of homelessness
  • Knowledge of Family & Domestic Violence, plus being able to apply FDV models/practices, along with educating and creating awareness of FDV to residents
  • Knowledge & application of child protection principles and legislation
  • A current WA Drivers Licence
  • Be able to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
