The Salvation Army Australia's Homelessness Stream provides high quality, person centred services to people at risk, and or experiencing homelessness. We support adults and families, including accompanying children with accommodation, case management, outreach support, financial assistance, connection and referral to other specialist services.

Our philosophy is that every person deserves dignity, respect and quality of service and that no one should be without a safe, affordable and secure home. Services are free, voluntary, accredited and delivered by professional and committed staff.

Serenity House provides safe and appropriate immediate temporary supported accommodation, for women and children experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness.

THE ROLE

We are currently seeking an experienced and values-driven Case Manager to support Women (and their children) to achieve housing stability, experience improved social inclusion and be equipped to live successfully in the community. This support is achieved through person-centred case management, incorporating recovery based, trauma Informed, and Strengths based practices in a PACE supervision model.

Reporting to the Manager you will work effectively with other members of a multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive client service within the vison, mission and values of The Salvation Army.

This position is located at Serenity House, Mount Isa.

HOURS AND SALARY

This is a permanent full-time position, 38 hours per week.

Salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, Level 2.

IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

  • An appreciation of and the ability and willingness to promote and support the values and ethos of The Salvation Army.
  • Tertiary qualifications within Community Services, Social Work or similar discipline, or extensive relevant experience with a minimum of a Diploma qualifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to respond to complete behaviours associated with substance abuse, homelessness and metal health conditions or illnesses
  • Demonstrated abilities to work at a professional level are self-motivated and have a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to communicate with clients at a level that promotes change and supports independence.
  • Confident administration skills
  • Team player, flexible, adaptive and has a positive attitude
  • An ability to network and liaise with other community services
  • Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
  • A current QLD Drivers Licence
  • Be able to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
