The Salvation Army Sunrise Centre Drug & Alcohol Service provides a structured 12 week residential and day program providing individual weekly counselling, group work, skills development and recreational activities.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Salvation Army is looking for Alcohol & Other Drug Case Manager, who can Facilitate groups, provide Case Management and basic counselling to support withdrawal and residential rehabilitation programs.

Our rehabilitation and Withdrawal Services are open to both men and women over the age of 18 years wishing to address their substance misuse issues. Responsibilities include:

  • Group planning and facilitation
  • Effective relationships are established with clients that encourage self-determination and participation
  • Ongoing assessment is made of the client's issues, needs and circumstances from initial intake to exit
  • Individual case plans are developed in collaboration with clients and include a range of interventions that address the needs or goals of clients
  • Case plans are implemented with active client participation
  • Clients are assisted to access support services and establish community supports, and where needed are assisted through advocacy with service providers
  • A variety of groups are facilitated as appropriate e.g. life skills, harm minimization, relapse prevention, anger management, communication, stress management
  • Clients are assisted with medication management including S4 & S 8 prescribed medications and appropriately recorded
  • Progress and outcomes of individual case plans are regularly monitored and reviewed and where needed action is taken to ensure the plan continues to meet client needs or goals

HOURS AND SALARY

This is a permanent full time position, 38 hours per week.

Salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, Level 5.

ABOUT YOU

  • Tertiary Qualification in Community Services or Degree Qualification
  • Diploma or Cert IV in Alcohol & other Drugs & Mental Health
  • A current Northern Territory Drivers licence.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
  • Experience in the Alcohol & Other Drugs and/or mental health sector
