The Salvation Army Youth Services offer an integrated suite of programs engaging with young people across Australia. Youth services provide a diverse range of programs which include housing and homelessness, driver training, education, employment and training, AOD support, social and community activities, specialist therapeutic responses and youth justice programs.

Oasis Youth Services is an expression of the Salvation Army based in the Central Coast and Hunter regions of NSW. Oasis delivers a range of youth programs and services for young people aged 12-25 to support their journey to independence.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Building and Property Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for the day-to day facility operation and maintenance of Oasis Central Coast, which includes identifying and completing general repairs and maintenance, liaising with contractors, and co-ordination of annual building inspections and other compliance certification.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Ensure maintenance and operation of all buildings. plant and equipment including power supply, air conditioning, doors, windows and locks, water, sewerage and lighting furnishings
  • Gardens and grounds are kept in a tidy manner at all times
  • Co-ordinate and manage annual building inspections from external parties
  • Maintain required records for annual compliance inspections and have them ordered and available for visiting inspectors
  • All appropriate certificates are lodged by due dates to relevant authorities
  • All relevant personnel are inducted for all power tools and records maintained to show this
  • All tools and electrical equipment are regularly serviced, tested & tagged and have safety features retained
  • Liaising with contractors to organise appointments and ensuring all required documentation is completed
  • Maintain a register of visiting contractors

This is a permanent part time position, 15.2 hours per week.

IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

  • 2+ experience in the supervision and direction of contractors
  • Experience in, and knowledge of, work health and safety requirements
  • Electrical and/or mechanical trade knowledge (e.g. Testing & tagging certificate) (Desirable)
  • Working knowledge of maintenance and operation of building services equipment (Desirable)
  • Working knowledge of fire safety obligations in an office building (Desirable)
  • Current White Card
  • Current unrestricted driver's licence
  • Be able to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
