Bridgehaven Women's Alcohol and Other Drugs Residential Program offers an 18 bed residential program for women (and their accompanying children) with alcohol & other drugs misuse issues. The four month residential program is followed by a 6 to 8 weeks aftercare program. The program supports women to develop greater reflective capacity, feel more in charge of their emotions and lives and engage in healthy, sustainable relationships. It also assists women to transition toward healthy, independent living.

 Bridgehaven oversees the management of the Eunike Women's AOD Supported Accommodation Program which assists women to maintain a substance free lifestyle in appropriate and affordable housing for independent living.

about the role

Case Management: Supports clients to set and achieve goals through establishing and monitoring a case management plan; Supports clients to strengthen external networks and access support post exit.

This is a permanent fulltime ongoing position that sits within the Victoria AOD Service Stream. The position reports to the Senior Case Clinician based at Bridgehaven.

QUALIFICATIONS & MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree qualification in social work, psychology, addiction counselling or related discipline.
  • Certificate IV(or equivalent) in the application of AOD interventions or the four competencies required to work within the AOD Sector or a willingness to work towards obtaining these within the first 12 months of employment.
  • Working with Children Check
  • Mandatory National Police Check
  • Current Victorian Drivers License

SELECTION CRITERIA

Specialist Capabilities:

  • Case management: Excellent case management knowledge and practice, particularly in working with women with complex needs
  • Alcohol & Other Drugs: Knowledge of AOD sector; Understands and applies AOD models, approaches, theories and practices when dealing with service users; well-developed knowledge of the issues and challenges facing women who use alcohol and other drugs and a clear understanding of harm minimisation approaches
  • Family Violence and Homelessness: Understanding of the complex and diverse needs of women and their children experiencing family violence and homelessness
  • Trauma informed practice: Knowledge and practice experience in providing case management with a trauma lens for women and their children
