The Salvation Army Australia's Family Violence Stream provides a wide range of services around the country to support women and women with children impacted by family and domestic violence. We offer refuge, children's and parenting services, counselling, support, men's programs, accommodation and advice to women and children who are experiencing, or who have experienced, family violence.

THE ROLE

The role of the Support and Safety Hub is to provide:

  • A more visible contact point so that people know where to go for specialist support
  • Help for people to identify family violence and child well being issues
  • Advice based on contemporary risk assessment tools and guidance
  • Specialist support and tailored advice for victims, families and children, and perpetrators
  • Connection and coordination of access to support
  • A system-wide view of service capacity, client experience and outcomes

The Administration Assistant will be supporting Support & Safety Hub Practitioners to deliver high quality, safe and effective responses to Victorian women, children and families seeking support and safety through the Hub, and keep the perpetrator in view.

Administration Assistant will be required to work in a trauma & psychologically informed practice environment.

This position will be required to:

  • Create client profiles and relate all profiles.
  • Create screening and cases for clients and assign the case to the practitioner.
  • Maintain spreadsheet for Child Protection referral data and priority cases, and provide reports when required.
  • Maintain brokerage data on spreadsheet and update data on Client Relationship Management (CRM) system.
  • Assist practitioners with administration duties (includes scan and upload referral documents, update roster).
  • Support special functions such as the blitz on unallocated cases.
  • Administration assistance for L17 team (relief only - as required).
  • Handle client information in accordance with information security and privacy policies and requirements.
  • Participate in training and development activities designed to build capabilities to work effectively in the Hub environment.
  • Contribute to the review, development and implementation of systems, policies and procedures to build and enhance the Hub service model.

HOURS AND SALARY

This is a full time position, 38 hours per week fixed term 12 month contract.

Salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, Level 4.

IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

Qualifications and Mandatory Requirements

  • Relevant qualification and experience in administration is essential.
  • Experience working in community services sector is desirable.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills.
  • Excellent data entry skills and strong attention to detail.
  • A national police record check will be required (conducted by TSA)
  • A current and valid Working with Children Check is required
  • A current Victorian Drivers licence
