Reporting to the Finance Accounting Lead, the Financial Accountant position is part of the Finance Shared Services Financial Accounting Stream and is responsible for liaising with business partners and stakeholders in providing assistance and advice with their financial management.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Be involved in the preparation of financial information and reports in accordance with statutory and compliance requirements;
  • Provision of analysis on performance, key drivers and risk areas for the business;
  • Presentation of financial results and performance to key stakeholders and management team;
  • Preparation and production of month-end and year-end financial reporting and reconciliations;
  • Liaison with internal and external auditors;
  • Involvement with budgeting and annual forecasting;
  • Support business units to ensure financial integrity is maintained and financial reports are accurate.

Required Skills:

  • Accounting, Finance or Business Degree;
  • Either have or be close to attaining a professional qualification (CPA/CA) with relevant experience and proven management reporting skills;
  • In depth knowledge of AASB 16 Leases is desirable;
  • High level numeracy, reconciliation and time management skills;
  • Advanced Excel skills;
  • High attention to detail and accuracy with figures;
  • Experience in fast paced, highly visible, results-driven environments;
  • Some experience in budgeting, forecasting and statistical analysis;
  • Strong stakeholder management experience and ability to deliver to strict deadlines is a must;
  • Highly organised and have well-developed communication skills coupled with a strong business acumen;
  • ERP Accounting system experience required. Technology One Finance One experience desirable.
