  • We provide on the job training and employment to young people who have experienced disadvantage
  • The Industry Mentor (on the job trainer) trains and assists in the development of the young person's cleaning skills, and also acts as a role model and coach

The position

  • Moorabbin and surrounds OR Bundoora and surrounds
  • Evening cleaning of Early Learning Centres - rooms, break areas, kitchen, offices and toilets
  • Regular work – 15+ hours per week
    • Mon to Fri
    • Rostered hours starting from 5.30 pm
  • Casual rate from $28+ per hour - Level 2 Cleaning Services Award
  • Initial contract to end of 2021, with options to extend into 2022
  • Team role – you will be coaching a trainee on cleaning, safety and good workplace practice

You will be able to demonstrate

  • Experience in commercial cleaning
  • Physically fit to clean for 5 or more hours
  • Reputation for getting the job done well, and patience with trainees
  • Willingness to undertake training in coaching young people
  • The right to work in Australia
  • Valid driver licence and car to travel between sites – expenses paid

Sparkways Youth Employment Pathway Program

We provide on the job training and employment to young people who have experienced disadvantage and barriers to entering the workforce and maintaining employment. Industry Mentors (on the job trainers) play a crucial role in supporting the young person's success throughout the program. It is the responsibility of the Industry Mentor to not only train and assist in the development of the young person's cleaning skills, but to also role model and coach the young person to thrive and grow as a young adult.
