About us

Trust for Nature is a not-for-profit organisation that works collaboratively to protect nature on private land in Victoria forever. Working with 1,450 landholders we have protected more than 100,000 ha across both covenants and our 44 conservation reserves. We also run a Revolving Fund program to purchase conservation properties.

About the opportunity

The Communication Coordinator supports a wide range of communication and media tasks within the fundraising and marketing team. You will work with traditional media and look after social media, maintain the website, and develop fundraising and marketing collateral. The role has a strong digital and content development focus.

The Coordinator helps manage the Trust for Nature brand and raise awareness about the importance of protecting habitat on private land. This role also supports regional staff from around 10 offices in the state and juggles many projects at one time.

Knowledge and experience

The role is based in a small team and will suit someone who has all round experience in communications and media, is willing to lend a hand to various tasks and influence campaigns and project communications.

  • Excellent written and oral skills
  • Strong organisational and project management skills
  • Knowledge of/or strong interest in conservation, natural environment and/or Victorian species and landscapes
  • Experienced in media release writing and pitching stories to journalists and producers
  • Experienced social media user and digital content producer
  • Some knowledge of Canva or other design platform and/or software would be advantageous
  • An understanding of government processes and the obligations of statutory bodies is desirable.

A National Police Check is required to be conducted as part of the selection process.

A base salary of $79,131 p.a. full time equivalent is offered rising to $81,268 on 1 Jan 2021, plus 9.5% superannuation.
