Edmund Rice Ministries Oceania (ERMO) support and manage the work of 14 successful Edmund Rice community service entities across Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea. Edmund Rice Camps SA (ERCSA) is a vibrant member of this network, providing hope, joy and aspiration for young people across South Australia.

About the Opportunity:

Based in Adelaide, the ERCSA Manager provides strategic and operational leadership in the coordination of mentoring and recreational programs designed to:

  • Provide opportunities to learn new skills and develop relationships with children and families
  • Enhance community connection
  • Develop the leadership capacity and value base of young adult volunteers

Having just celebrated 30 years of service, ERCSA has revitalised its mission and is looking for an outstanding community leader to drive the next stage of growth.

ERCSA is embarking on an exciting phase of its development, and the organisation is seeking a dynamic, self-driven individual with a passion for justice and an ability to lead by serving and facilitating empowerment for others. Under the ERCSA Manager’s leadership, ERCSA services are developed and expanded through new service initiatives, proactive creation of new funding sources, and the development of new network partnerships. A priority objective for ERCSA is a critical focus on sustainability for the organisation over the medium to long term.

The successful applicant will ultimately be both visionary and pragmatic – someone who can develop and deliver high-quality programs, someone who can awaken young participants to their own unique potential, and instil within the young adult volunteers a belief in their capacity to make a difference.

Duties include but are not limited to –

  • Delivering a structured strategic plan that strengthens the position of ERCSA in the community/social services sector
  • Oversight and leadership of ERCSA day to day operations
  • Management of staff and volunteer teams
  • Finance and budget management
  • Implementation of Risk Management plan
  • Compliance and Governance
  • Work with Local Advisory Board
  • Work with the ERMO Executive Officer to assist the development of the national network

About the Candidate:

The successful candidate will have a genuine interest in this creative and challenging role, developing a contemporary response to sustainability in the community services sector. They will have:

  • Minimum Bachelor Degree related to Community development, Social welfare, Counselling or other relevant area
  • Minimum 3 years experience working in a similar role including leadership, oversight of team and management responsibilities
  • Working with children clearance
  • Current unrestricted drivers licence
  • Apply First Aid certificate
  • Willingness and ability to travel from time to time
  • Willingness to work flexible hours in order to meet the demands of the role including weekend and evening work
  • Experience working within a volunteer scheme, volunteer-based program or in a direct relationship with volunteers
