Trentwood at the Hub is a new neighbourhood house North Balwyn.  We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to work closely with the local community to build a dynamic and inclusive community house program.  This position is responsible for the day to day coordination of the house and building a program of activities that are responsive to the needs of the local community.

Trentwood at the Hub is a service of Access Health and Community.  This position reports to the Senior Manager, Community at Access Health and Community.  Trentwood at the Hub is co located at Greythorn Community Hub with Access Health and Community, various Boroondara Council services, and a child care centre.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY ARE:

  • Supervise all staff employed at the neighbourhood house including reception staff, tutors and program facilitators and the Greythorn Community Hub coordinator.
  • Develop and manage programs and activities that respond to the needs of the local community and recruit tutors and program facilitators in line with AccessHC recruitment processes.
  • Recruit, train and supervise volunteers as required, and in line with AccessHC volunteer policy and procedures
  • Develop and implement marketing and promotional strategy using both print and electronic media.
  • With the Hub Coordinator, manage regular and ad hoc room bookings for Neighbourhood house rooms and the Greythorn Community Hub multipurpose room.
  • Develop and support a Community Committee of local residents and community house participants to inform the strategic direction of the community house
  • Adhere to and report against Boroondara Council Funding Guidelines
  • Build networks and collaborate with community members, local service providers and Greythorn Traders to inform the development of a diverse range of community projects and programs.
  • Participate in network meetings including Boroondara Neighbourhood house network and Network of Inner East Community Houses.
  • Ensure Vettak record keeping is accurate and up to date for reporting purposes
  • Provide backfill Hub reception duties as required

As part of working within a Neighbourhood House, all staff are required to participate in duties from time to time such as spot cleaning, setting up for functions, assisting with catering and hospitality and other necessary duties to enhance community participation and enjoyment in Trentwood at the Hub.
