We are currently recruiting for a part time, ongoing Therapeutic Intake Practitioner to work in a Family Violence Therapeutic Program in the Western Suburbs.

It's a Therapeutic Family Violence Intervention program which provides a comprehensive, specialised suite of therapeutic services to ensure that survivors of family violence are physically and emotionally safe.

YOU WILL

  • Provide high quality screening assessment, over the phone and in person, about whether clients are appropriate for the service
  • Provide short-term individual and group support for clients between referral and case allocation, if required
  • Provide evidence - based assessment, counselling and case - management support to victim survivors of family violence in the context of their family violence experience
  • Plan, develop and monitor the implementation of evidence informed interventions
  • Deliver evidence-informed best practice services to vulnerable children, youth and families with complex needs children with a disability; children and families from a culturally or linguistically diverse background; and/or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
  • Establish a working relationships with children and families, demonstrating respect and honest communication
  • Strengthen family connections and promote positive interactions
  • Use a range of therapeutic techniques and approaches to engage women, children and families

YOU MUST HAVE

  • A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology or related behavioural science
  • Ability to conduct screening assessments both over the phone and face to face with victim survivors of family violence
  • Experience in undertaking client centric therapeutic assessments
  • Capacity to analyse complex issues, including the impact of violence and trauma, safety and risk, provide therapeutic interventions for women and children and assist them to achieve goals
  • Experience in planning and facilitating evidence based/informed therapeutic individual and group programs
  • Experience in active engagement of vulnerable children, youth and families and delivering a range of interventions to improve their outcomes

DESIRABLE

  • Post graduate qualification or currently studying one in counselling/therapy, leadership or management
  • Experience providing therapeutic support and group facilitation
