The Police Association Victoria (“TPAV”) represents the professional, industrial, legal and wellbeing interests of in excess of 18,000 sworn police and Protective Services Officers (PSOs) in Victoria and is among the most influential and high-profile employee organisations in the state.
As a member of TPAV’s Health & Safety section, you will represent members in all aspects of occupational health and safety (OHS) by advocating to key stakeholders, including Victoria Police, in order to continuously improve the safety of the working environment for all police and PSOs across the state.
You will be responsible for the delivery of formal training (as prescribed and accredited by WorkSafe Victoria) to all elected Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) and Deputies HSRs to enable them to properly fulfil their roles under relevant legislation.
Monitoring and compliance with OHS legislation, compliance codes, standards and industry best practice will also be an important feature of this role.
You will also oversee elections for HSRs and Deputy HSRs who represent Victoria Police employees.
To be successful in this role you will have a proven track record as an authoritative expert in this field and a fierce advocate with a strong empathy for our serving members.
You are an exceptional communicator with strong interpersonal skills who is highly-organised, collaborative, and excels in a team environment.
Demonstrated experience in effectively dealing with multiple stakeholders will be highly regarded.
