The Communications Officer will ensure communications are effective, targeted, credible and meet the standards set by Toora. The Communications Officer should possess a balanced creative and analytical mind capable of leveraging technology to build communities and grab the attention of a targeted audience. In addition, she will research and identify social media best practices and trends, as well as provide community insights that will be used to raise Toora services and programs in the community.

Tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Create, develop and manage all Toora digital and social media content.
  • Create and implement a social media marketing plan and event calendar that supports the Toora Communications and Marketing strategy.
  • Write, edit and publish approved online content.
  • Coordinate photo and video shoots.
  • Moderate user-generated content and messages appropriately,
  • Track and analyse analytics reports.
  • Assist the Executive Director with creating media releases and stakeholder presentations.

Essential Selection Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications in marketing, communication or related fields. University students currently pursuing a relevant qualification will be considered
  • Experience in managing, reviewing and analysing social media online algorithms platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, etc) and provide a strategy on how to optimise engagement based on social media analytics to increase effectiveness of future campaigns
  • Experience with graphic design applications (for example Canva, Adobe Photoshop, In-Design, Illustrator, After Effects)
  • Proficient computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in addition to strong interpersonal skills.
