Toora is a not-for-profit organisation, dedicated to delivering gender specific services to women, trans women and feminine identifying people in the ACT and surrounds since 1982.

Toora is committed to providing support to Canberra women who are impacted by domestic violence, homelessness, institutions and substance dependency through a range of programs.

We are seeking two incredible women to join Toora's Board as general members.

The Board members take overall responsibility for the governance of the organisation. The Board has four overarching areas of responsibility:

• Strategic direction setting
• Financial accountability
• Employer responsibilities
• Broad service delivery policy setting

The Board meets bi-monthly, and board members are expected to participate in at least one Board sub-committee.

Toora currently has two vacant Board positions, to be filled at our AGM in November. We are particularly looking for people with the following life experience and/or skills:

• First Nations women
• Women from ethnically diverse backgrounds
• Women with disability
• Commercial and/or financial investment skills

Previous Board experience is not required, and you will be provided with training and support to participate.
