Together/ASU is seeking a motivated individual who will work in Cairns as part of the regional team and be responsible for organising in and around the Cairns and Far North Queensland region. The role includes occasional travel to other parts of Queensland.

The successful applicant will be responsible for organising union members to improve their working lives. The role includes recruiting new members to the union, providing education and support to existing union members about their rights at work, providing industrial representation, representing the union at inductions, working with union delegates, activists and members to both develop delegate and membership structures as well as activate membership involvement in campaigns. Together campaigns focus on improving workers’ rights however Together members also campaign about issues that matter to members like climate change, the provision of high-quality health care to everyone and making sure regional communities have fair access to services.

A working knowledge of contemporary industrial relations would be well received, and any union experience should be noted in your application.

This exciting position is based in our Cairns Office.

The position salary ranges from A05 – A07 ($3476.45 - $4785.80) per fortnight.
