We're looking for the next generation of digital craftspeople, designing solutions that benefit people and the planet.

We are seeking somebody with a passion for learning, building, craft and polish. You'll be delivering great work in the technology team, surrounded by great developers, a solutions architect and technology consultants.

About Today

Today is an award-winning strategic design studio, working across health, education, giving and public service.

We use design and technology to make change happen, at pace and at scale. In the last 12 months, we’ve designed and built Australia’s first online family violence intervention order, established a new approach to co-design for the Victorian mental health sector, built a peer-to-peer product that helps people learn Auslan, and launched a campaign to shift mainstream perceptions of climate change—plus many more.

Our practice is built on strong foundations of human-centred design and digital making. There are 50 of us, based mostly in Melbourne, working across strategy, research, design, content, delivery and a wonderful support team.

About our Technology team

• We help our clients innovate within their organisation and services using technology
• We craft creative, meaningful and effective user experiences
• Architect and build digital solutions that serve broad contexts

• We help our clients to make long and short-term technology decisions

Person Requirements

• A keen appetite to learn and contribute, from participating in workshops to collaborating on solutions and helping map effort and costs as required
• Purpose and creativity - you're driven to serve our teams and our wonderful clients spread across the purpose sector
• A background in development with open source systems. We use Craft, SilverStripe, Wordpress and Drupal
• Appropriate experience with modern web frameworks, libraries and tools. You'll encounter VueJS, React, React Native, Typescript and nodeJS regularly
• You've got some experience in and around open source CMS platforms
• Great communications skills
• 2-5 years of experience in digital or creative agencies is a bonus
• You must be legally able to work in Australia
