Preamble

Thursday Girls is a small charity established in 2017. The role of the facilitators of the Thursday Girls Group (TG) is to provide support to women living and dying with metastatic breast cancer, taking into account their psychosocial, spiritual, emotional and relevant information needs. This is achieved through two weekly therapeutic support groups and a fortnightly group for the partners of the women. Support for both cohorts is through the therapeutic group experience, and the facilitation of close connections between the members within and between groups. Each group is facilitated jointly by two facilitators. The groups are unstructured.

We, the current two facilitators, feel very fortunate to working in TG. It is profoundly satisfying to get to know these women and their partners, and support them as they deal with the fundamental issues of human existence, and the challenge of making their lives meaningful, however long they last.
