Thorne Harbour Health, Victoria’s largest provider of LGBTI health services is looking for an appropriately qualified, warm, organised, collaborative and enthusiastic social worker/case worker to join our busy intake and assessment team.

As the initial point of contact for clients seeking counselling, family violence support or alcohol and other drug treatment you will welcome clients into the service with your excellent rapport building skills and gather relevant information in a trauma informed and supportive manner. You will also utilise your knowledge and experience of brief interventions, assessment and collaborative treatment planning for a variety of presentations (including conducting thorough risk assessments) to develop an initial support plan and work with clients until they access an appropriate internal or external service.

Knowledge of HIV, hep C and sexual health is desirable as is an LGBTI affirmative stance and a genuine interest in meeting the mental health and support needs of our diverse community. Previous experience in working in multidisciplinary teams and assessment for AOD or family violence will be highly regarded.
