The Spiers Centre is providing the opportunity for two Financial Counsellors to join our team.
We are a member of the Financial Counselling Network (FCN) which is a partnership of 14 community service organisations and local government providing a comprehensive range of integrated and person-centred services to reduce the drivers and impacts of financial hardship in the WA community.
We are recruiting two full-time financial counsellors with one position based in Marangaroo and the other in Joondalup. Successful candidates will assist individuals and families who are experiencing, or are at risk of experiencing, financial hardship to build their financial stability and resilience.
You are a passionate and talented individual who is driven to deliver a quality service for our clients.
You will be willing to work with minimal supervision, travel and work from various locations in the northern metropolitan area, be a self-starter and a great problem solver with a passion to assisting people facing financial hardship.
You also must possess a current National Police Clearance, Working with Children’s Card and be willing to become a member and meet the requirements of the Financial Counsellor’s Association of WA.
As a Financial Counsellor you will provide a high-quality financial counselling service including best practice advocacy services for people experiencing financial difficulty. You will work collaboratively with clients and other service providers to determine appropriate strategies, referral pathways, advocacy and support over the phone, via videoconferencing and in person.
More broadly, you will work with the wider community to improve financial wellbeing and resilience through developing, organising and presenting community education. You will represent the program at relevant external forums and will work to develop strong relationships with other members of the Financial Counselling Network.
These positions are a fixed term until January 2022
Before an offer of employment can be made, a National Police Clearance of not older than 3 months and current unrestricted driver's license must be submitted.
