The Shepherd Centre is a not-for-profit early intervention provider that runs specialised paediatric programs for children with hearing impairment and their families to enable them to develop their listening and spoken language and go on to achieve their full potential in life. The Shepherd Centre has been operating for almost 50 years and helps over 500 children and families each year through 6 centres across NSW and ACT, as well as running a number of outreach services, and working with remote families through our teleintervention and e-learning platforms.

About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated Group Programs Administrator to work as a part of our friendly and supportive clinical team. This is a 12 month part-time maternity leave cover role based at our Newtown Head Office centre (right near Macdonaldtown train station), working 20 hrs per week (40 hours per fortnight) Monday to Thursday.

The role reports to the Senior Manager Group Programs and is primarily responsible for supporting with the administration of our Early Childhood and School Age Group Programs, including volunteer coordination and some direct interaction in groups with families, while supporting with groups coordination.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assistance with the administration of enrolments for all group programs
  • Coordination of groups volunteer recruitment, database and documentation
  • Clinical Database Management and NDIS administration
  • Assistance with groups coordination at centres as required, including preparation of materials for child and parent groups, networking with families and support with child care

About you

  • A minimum of three years’ work experience, with strong administrative skills
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Tenacious with excellent organisational capabilities
  • Proven customer service skills
  • Experience working with Groups, ideally in a family centred/early childhood or school environment
  • A current Working with Children Check NSW or willingness to obtain one
  • Full working rights to work in Australia
