About our Organisation:

Thamarrurr Development Corporation Ltd (TDC) based at Wadeye, is a not-for-profit corporate entity, owned by members of the Wangka, Tjanpa and Lirga peoples. TDC has been established by the 20 clans of the Thamarrurr Region to represent them in relation to business, socio-economic development, employment and training. As an indigenous owned entity, TDC is the appointed voice for people of the region, as they strive for economic independence and freedom from reliance on welfare and government supports.

The Wadeye Community, (formerly Pt Keats) NT, is located in the Western Daly River region – an area rich in cultures, wildlife and ecosystems. Wadeye is the Territory’s 6th most populous towns and one of Australia’s largest remote indigenous communities.

About the Opportunity:

Under the guidance of the TDC Board and the CEO, as the General Manager, Commercial and Business Development, you’ll be responsible for the management and strategic growth of the TDC organisation. You’ll drive the development of new business and enterprises opportunities in the Wadeye area, implement, manage and be accountable for the TDC Business Plan and lead business improvement processes across the different portfolios.

You’ll relish the opportunity to work closely with the various TDC Department Managers to ensure that the strategic and operational business processes, improve social development outcomes, strengthen TDC’s financial performance and achieve real and positive benefits on-the-ground at a community level.

  • A tertiary qualification in Business Management, Economics, Commercial Development or related discipline

Essential Licences/ Clearances prior to commencement:

  • Obtain and maintain Northern Land Council Work Permit (with assistance)
  • Obtain Police Clearance Check (with assistance)
