Our goal is to support individuals facing complex legal challenges, particularly in family law, by addressing their psychological, financial, and community needs. We're now looking for an experienced and passionate Social Worker to help us expand our impact across Victoria and beyond.
Positional Responsibilities:
In this key role, you will support TFA Legal’s mission by:
- Establishing and nurturing a referral network for TFA Legal, including but not limited to social services referrals.
- Creating opportunities to speak at various organizations on the impact of coercive control, both psychologically and legally.
- Assisting clients in setting up funding and resources to manage their financial obligations in legal matters.
- Managing referrals to lawyers and psychological counselors as needed to ensure clients receive holistic care.
- Designing systems to identify and reach out to minority clients, such as LGBTQ+ individuals, people with disabilities, and other underserved groups.
- Liaising with community groups to foster connections and support networks.
- Assisting in organizing community legal events where TFA Legal can provide topic-based clinics on family law matters.
- Supporting the establishment of referral networks in Queensland to expand our reach and services.
- Creating social work booklets and other marketing materials to champion the social and holistic side of TFA Legal.
Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualifications (Masters or Bachelors) in Social Work with eligibility for AASW membership.
- 2+ years of experience in social work, particularly in family violence, mental health, or community advocacy.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including legal and mental health professionals.
- Experience in public speaking or community engagement is highly desirable.
- Proven track record of building referral networks and working with community groups.
- Strong understanding of minority and marginalized groups' needs and experience creating tailored support systems.
- Must be eligible to apply for government funding for family violence victims in Victoria.
- Valid Driver’s License and Working with Children Check are essential.
