About the role

This contractor position is an administration role working with the Working Group and Board of Tender Funerals Canberra Region (TFCR) to bring Tender Funeral's to Canberra in 2021. The position will also entail the facilitation of significant fund raising activities and community activation.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Initiate and oversee crowd fundraising activities for TFCR to meet fundraising targets.
  • Work closely with community and social enterprise organisations to support fundraising activities.
  • Approach relevant Canberra businesses, in consultation with the Working Group and Board, to promote TFCR and offer sponsorship opportunities.
  • Seek community grants.
  • Perform administrator role for TFCR Facebook group, including efforts to expand membership base and utilising the platform for promotion of fundraising activities.
  • Provide progress reports and updates to TFCR Board.
  • Keep and maintain accurate records.
  • Generate tracking based reports to capture fundraising progress.
  • Represent TFCR.
  • Effectively use social media platforms, google suite, Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Word
  • General administration and other work as directed.

The Role

  • Duration: 6 Months Contract (contractor position)
  • Hours: 25 Hours Per Week
  • Remuneration: $42.48 per hour consistent with the SCHADS Award level 5.3 plus superannuation (9.5%).
  • Weekend Work: The role may entail some weekend work, which will be paid consistent with the SCHADS Award for level 5.3.
  • Extension: subject to the availability of funding, and performance there maybe opportunities to extend this contract.

Our Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for this role will be a self-starter with a passion for driving and promoting community sector projects. Previous fundraising experience will be highly regarded, including approaching potential donors and developing effective fund raising strategies. We are looking for someone who will be comfortable with engaging with people from all backgrounds and can work with other community organisations to progress TFCR fundraising goals. Our ideal candidate will also have the ability to assist with the progression and finalisation of governance paperwork for TFCR.
