ABOUT THE ROLE

Tenants Victoria operates a telephone advice line, providing tenants with much needed and free tenancy legal information, referrals and advice. The demand for our legal service phone advice line is significantly higher than the capacity that we have to answer it. We therefore require an intake worker(s) to assist us with managing this demand, and with providing information and referrals.

ABOUT YOU

You are a driven, motivated self-starter who has the ability to work autonomously to deliver high quality results and exceed expectations. You have high attention to detail, strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with people quickly.

Key to your success is your:

  • Experience in client intake, triage, and/or case management.
  • Good organisational, administrative and time management skills, and the ability to manage changing priorities.
  • Knowledge and experience of residential tenancy and social housing systems, or the ability to quickly gain this.
  • Ability to provide service that is user-focused, and to work flexibly to meet the needs of tenants experiencing vulnerability or disadvantage including people experiencing mental illness and family violence survivors.

This is fixed-term position for a period of 12 months part time (0.6EFT) status - negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

You will have:

  • Associate diploma level with substantial experience in a relevant service stream (for example performing intake within a community setting, preferably housing or homelessness related), or less formal qualifications with specialised skills relating to client intake, triage and/or case management.
