Tenants Victoria was established in 1975 as an advocacy organisation and specialist community legal centre, providing information and advice to residential tenants, rooming house and caravan park residents across the state. Our purpose is to improve the status and rights of tenants in Victoria.

We assist around 18,000 private and public renters in Victoria each year with advice and advocacy including representation at the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.

We are seeking a positive, enthusiastic and experienced Digital Communications Officer to join a small dynamic team. The successful candidate will be a creative individual who can use their expertise in developing and managing effective digital communications content and channels to support the organisations strategic objectives.

Your duties will include:

  • Develop and manage Tenants Victoria social media channels, including writing non legal content to inform the community to support our advocacy campaigns
  • Provide graphic design and video/audio production support
  • Utilise digital tools to engage and promote the organisation’s valued work in the community
  • Provide analysis and reports on digital communication campaigns
  • Understand internal clients to ensure the content created meets needs
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and provide specialist advise on the design on online content and written communications to support employees in their interactions with clients.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you must have at least two years in a paid digital marketing/social media role where you have been responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating a wide range of online media. You will possess sound values and a strong focus on social justice including a belief that safe, secure, affordable & appropriate housing is a fundamental human right. Comprehensive reference and background checking will be undertaken, including a Working with Children Check and police check
